Cell Phones

After hearing/reading the same old Hollywood stories of how their cells got hacked, then their "private" naked pics are posted all over the Internet, it got me thinking. Why do we insist on storing our lives on our cell phones? I am also guilty of this to an extent. I may not text (sext) naughty pics of my nakedness around, but I do take pictures of my kids on my phone and realized that I hadn't moved all my pics to a separate storage device in over a year. So all my precious pictures of birthdays, Christmas, the new baby etc are all vulnerable to being lost. If I lose my phone, I lose all documentation to my irreplaceable pictures. Why, why are we storing our lives on our phones? The pay phone is completely obsolete, my husband learned this the other day. His cell wouldn't dial out, so he seriously looked for a pay phone. All the ones he found were without phones. I remember playing on pay phones as a child. We'd go to the park and pick up the phone and screw around with the operators. Sadly those days are gone because there are no longer pay phones or operators. Seriously when is the last time any of you dialed an actual number? I used to know every ones number by heart. Hell I still remember old phone numbers from long ago but ask me a for a number from anyone in my phone right now (except my husbands) and I can honestly tell you I have no idea.
So here's my challenge, let's try and be less dependant on our cells, try and learn someones actual number and dial it. If we take a picture, lets move it to a usb drive or whatever you like to store on. Lets put our phones down and have a face to face conversation with someone. And whatever you do, remember always always delete any naked pictures of yourself and Justin Timberlake...Imagine how horrifying it would be to stumble upon your naked self on the Internet. You may not be a celebrity, but even you can lose your phone and some perv might just post all your gloryness on the net.
I think being less dependant on your cell, might just be a good thing. What do you think?
